I haven't written anything for a few years, so sorry about that. We have been growing our curriculum lately and getting Li Shu Zewei Do recognized and certified by the International Combat Martial Arts Unions, has taken a great del of effort. Also, we are putting together, for the first time ever, Young Peoples Jeet Kune Do class that is slated to start on June 2, 2026. The plan is to teach JKD to those 8 to 17 years old and get them trained to defend themselves, if the need arises. As with our adult JKD class, there is no sport aspect, so no tournaments or competitions will be done here. It will be JKD geared toward younger folks and how it can help them navigate their daily lives. I have already gotten some interest in this class, so details will be forthcoming as we figure it out.
In related news, Sifu Michael Holman passed his JKD Masters test with flying colors and he, along with Sifu Trey Lasseter and Sifu Paris Loyle, recently passed their 2nd degree black sash test in Li Shu Zewei Do and Sifu Levi Enegren passed his 1st degree black sash in LSZD. These modern warriors have come a very long way and they are all truly forces to be reconned with.
It is my goal to set some time aside once a week to blog about whatever is going on at Pear Tree Self Defense Center, so please check back often while I make this a habit.
